Girls Jerome Match report

On Wednesday 14th November, Y5/6 girls represented the school at the level 2 regional finals at Rugeley leisure centre. The girls were placed in group 2 alongside Heath Hayes and Pye Green. Group A were made up of Norton Canes, Etching Hill and Gorsemoor.

Our first game was against Pye Green which we managed to win 2-0. The goals were scored by Jess McMurray and Gracie freeman. Our second game was against Heath Hayes. If we won this game we would go through to final against Gorsemoor who won Group 1. It was very level game however a last minute goal by Gracie Freeman meant we went through.

The final against Gorsemoor was once again a very tense game and we managed to score 1st with a goal from Evie Bate. We were then under pressure for most the game and they managed to score near the end of the game to send it to extra time. Extra time was very level and the game went to penalties. The girls did an amazing job and Hollie Freeman managed to save 2 penalties and our girls managed to score 3 of the 4 which meant we won the tournament and are now through to the level 3 final at St. George’s park.
