Jerome Primary School

Curriculum Intent

At Jerome our aim is to create a primary school that encourages its children to set no boundaries when it comes to their future and all they can grow to be – ‘Forever Forward’.

We want to help each child become a caring, confident and curious young person who has a passion for learning and achieving. We will do this by supporting, guiding and inspiring our children through excellent teaching practices. By working with our families we will create an aspirational school community in which everyone is valued and successes are celebrated.

Our curriculum is designed and implemented with the intent to ensure all of our pupils can be successful, that barriers are challenged and removed so that weaknesses become strengths, and strengths are celebrated. We are committed to ensuring SEND children are able to access our curriculum offering.

Our curriculum intent for each subject can be seen clearly through our curriculum maps and skills progression grids. School agreed vocabulary lists underpin teaching to ensure language is continually built upon in all subject areas. Should you require any further information about our curriculum, please contact the school office.

Creative Curriculum

Through our Creative Curriculum we aim to inspire our pupils’ future educational choices and job roles. Ensuring our curriculum, whilst covering the content of the National Curriculum, also opens learning up to encompass a variety of tasks and challenges that give our pupils experience and understanding of different industry, job roles and business opportunities.
