We do not currently have any available spaces in our Reception class for this academic year (2020).

You need to apply for September 2021, if your child's fifth birthday is between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 for a place. This must be done through Staffordshire Local Authority using this link:

The application system will open on 1 November 2020 and closes on 15th January 2021.

Schools are notified in March of children attending their Reception class. Induction information is sent out to Parents in May 2021 from us for children joining our Reception in September 2021.

Your child's learning

We have a holistic approach to teaching the whole child, which is at the heart of the Early Years Curriculum. Throughout the course of the year, children experience meaningful and planned learning opportunities across all 7 areas of learning. Play based learning is encouraged through continuous provision and through careful observation we are able to identify next steps for each individual child. As much as possible we use real objects, authentic materials and open-ended resources as this creates a sense of ‘awe and wonder’ and provides a much richer learning experience. We are weather warriors and believe that nature and the outdoors can provide us wonderful opportunities every day. We believe there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing! We promote emotional well-being, togetherness and friendship in our environment so that children feel comfortable to explore, learn or to simply begin to figure out who they are as a tiny human in this great, big world!

We are Early Adopters of the New EYFS Framework that will be statutory in all schools in September 2021. More information can be found at:

Guidance from Staffordshire Local authority:

You should only use this system if your child lives in Staffordshire.

You are strongly advised to make more than one preference.

We recommend you include your catchment area. There are some schools in Staffordshire who do not operate within a catchment area within their admission arrangements.

Understand the admission arrangements for your preferred school(s) and view further information on how places are allocated.

Consider how your child will get to school. Very few children are entitled to free or discounted home to school travel.

Useful Policies and further information:

Other school policies can be found on our website under Parents > Policies.
